If you are like me, you have broken out because you didn’t wash your face immediately after working out or did not wash your makeup brushes when you know you should have. The worst part isn’t even the breakout, it’s the aftermath.  Now I’m left with these dark marks on my face that do not fade for months and I have to cover them up. . . goodbye to my bb creams and light coverage foundations.

So, I decided to try Lancôme’s  Visionnaire Crescendo Dual-Phase Night Peel on a whim. It was 20% off, which made  the $75 price tag become $61.  It’s always nice to get a deal.

But, I still was a little nervous because I never had a peel from a spa, let a lone an acid peel.  But I was so ready for my face to be spotless again.

Lancôme’s Visionnaire Crescendo Promise

Based on Lancôme’s website, the peel is meant to “. . .reveal smooth, even, and radiant skin!” It is to be used over 28 nights with 2 different phases.  The first phase you do for the first 14 nights and has 5% bio-acids like fruit acids and quinoa husk extract that reduces the appearance of pores, improve skin’s texture and radiance.  Whereas, the second phase has 10% derma-acids that include .5% salicylic acid and 9.5% pure glycolic acid.  This phase is suppose to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.  At the end of the 28 nights your skin should feel smooth and appear more even!

MY EXPERIENCE

I have to admit that my expectations weren’t that high for this product.  Especially since it is an over the counter product. I was used to hearing people say with peels that it’s something you have to go to the dermatologist or spa to get and it is a series of treatments to see a noticeable difference.  So, I was not expecting a miracle in this 1 oz bottle.

I started the first night and there was no burning like I expected.  The product was a bit sticky and it didn’t really dry or settle into the skin so no matter how early I put it on, my face still stuck a bit to my pillow case.  I was surprised to wake up with a very soft face, but no noticeable difference visibly.  It wasn’t until the seventh day that I noticed my face was changing a bit.  My pores were definitely less visible.  This was amazing to me since I do not use primer under my foundation.  By night 14 I was excited to get to the second phase so I could start seeing my dark spots fade.

Starting the second phase was a shock to me because I completely forgot about the 9.5% pure glycolic acid! I made the mistake of applying the second phase like the first phase.  After a few nights of feeling the burn, I changed the way I applied the second phase.  I stopped applying it on my top lip and around the corners of my nose because the burn was REAL! The second phase definitely tingles, but it is more like a burn and it lasts about 60 to 90 seconds. With both phases I wore my Diorskin Forever Foundation when I went outdoors since it has an SPF 35 built into it. Lancôme suggests using a SPF of at least 15.  By the fourth day, my face was peeling and I needed to make sure before I put on my foundation that I put on a moisturizer.  I am pretty simple and just used old school petroleum jelly.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS ON Lancôme Visionnaire Crescendo Dual-Phase Night Peel

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! By night 28, my skin texture was smoother and my dark spots were fading. Also, during my 28 nights I broke out with 2 cystic bumps and the product not only brought them to a head, but also removed them through the process.  For $75 this product is AMAZING!  For a product that I was not expecting a lot from, it gave me a surprise. This is my first try with any Lancôme skin product and it now makes me want to try more of their products because this one was true to its promise.  I would definitely recommend Lancôme Visionnaire Crescendo Dual-Phase Night Peel if you do not have sensitive skin and are looking to improve the look of your skin.  One of the best parts of this product is that they don’t just give you enough for one round of 28 nights, but for 2.  So, I’m going to do another round and expect it to finish the job on my pores and dark spots!
